Bedard’s Debut and Crucial Yankees Series

Eric Bedard had a whole new experience when he stepped on the mound for the first time as a Red Sox, in the stadium he said he most enjoys pitching in. He was decent going 5 innings giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 5. He pitched with confidence and gave the Sox a chance to win, but the bullpen gave up 4 earned runs to cost them the game. The Sox and Indians split this four game series. With the Sox loss and Yankees win the two teams are now tied atop the AL East.

Bedard's debut was solid with five strikeouts in five innings.

This weekend starts another chapter in the best rivalry in baseball, as the Yankees make their way to Fenway for three games. What adds to the excitement is the fact that first place is on the line. The pitching match ups start with Bartolo Colon against Jon Lester on Friday, C.C. Sabathia against John Lackey Saturday afternoon  and Freddy Garcia against Josh Beckett in prime time on Sunday Night Baseball.  To get everyone excited for this series, I will share some of the great moments in this rivalry.
