September 11, 2001 was a tragic day in the history of the United States. Our parents witnessed the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. Their parents were impacted by the attack on Pearl Harbor. We saw the manifestation of pure hatred as thousands of lives were taken on September 11, 2001. We were living history, a moment in time that we would never forget. That surreal moment when you realized what had happened and that the world was changing in front of your eyes. You can’t help but remember where you were, what you were doing when you heard. Many of us knew someone who was on location at the time of the attacks or knew someone who knew someone.
As we reach the 10th anniversary of the historic day that changed lives forever, we reflect.
