Former Chicago White Sox all-star third baseman Robin Ventura has been named the team’s manager for the upcoming 2012 season.
Ventura replaces the departed Ozzie Guillen who managed the south-side squad from 2004-2011 reaching the postseason twice while capturing a world series title in 2005.
Ventura, a major league veteran of 16 seasons (White Sox, Mets, Yankees, Dodgers) will become the 38th manager of the Chicago White Sox.
Besides his successful career as a member of the White Sox, Ventura hold a special place in the hearts of Mets fans.
Though what Robin Ventura may be most remember for is his altercation with hall of fame pitcher Nolan Ryan.
