Dunlap New Bobcats Coach

After an interview process where it seemed like no one wanted the job, the Bobcats have finally found their man. Mike Dunlap, previously an assistant for St. Johns has been the named the new coach in Charlotte. Dunlap’s only experience in the NBA was as an assistant for the Denver Nuggets from 2006-2008. He has coached for Loyola Marymount, Iowa, USC, Arizona and Oregon before joining Steve Lavin’s staff. Dunlap led California Lutheran University to the Southern California Conference National Championship from 92-94 and coached in Australia for the Adelaide 36ers. He has his work cut out for him as the Bobcats were an NBA worst 7-59 this past season.

Dunlap was an assistant in Denver from 2006-08.

Did a decent job filling in for Steve Lavin with the Red Storm.

MJ hopes this hire will help turn around a struggling franchise.

Adding Kidd-Gilchrist with the number 2 pick will help get the Bobcats closer to being competitive.
