Posey and Rodney Comeback Players

A player who came back from a devastating collision and a man who didn’t even have a closing job at the beginning of the year, both were rewarded on Friday. Buster Posey and Fernando Rodney were named the 2012 MLB Comeback Players of the Year.

Posey had a NL leading .336 average with 24 homers and 103 runs batted in and was a good reason the Giants are still playing today. Rodney was spectacular closing games in Tampa with 48 saves and a microscopic 0.60 era.

Posey is a front-runner for NL MVP with a NL leading .336 average.

Rodney took the Rays closing job and ran with it, saving 48 games with a 0.60 era.
