Two NFC powerhouse franchises have found new leading men. The Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears named new Head Coaches Wednesday Morning.
The Bears announced that Marc Trestman would be the next Head Coach of the Bears. Trestman has been the Montreal Alouettes Head Coach of the Canadian Football League since 2008. He does have NFL experience with the Vikings, Buccaneers, Browns, 49ers, Lions, Cardinals, Raiders and Dolphins. He served as Quarterbacks Coach, Running Backs Coach, Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach. Trestman has led the Alouettes to back to back Grey Cup Championships in 2009 and 2010.
After it seemed like they were not on the same page, the Eagles and Chip Kelly decided to make it work. Chip Kelly was named the new Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Wednesday Morning. Kelly has been Oregon’s Head Coach since 2007 where he went 46-7 in four seasons. He has no NFL experience and most football people are very skeptical whether his spread offense style will translate at the pro level. One thing that is on Kelly’s side is that Bill Belichick raves about him and uses some of his offensive styles with his team.
