Henderson Alvarez Throws A Walkoff No No

Henderson Alvarez struck out 4 Tigers on his historic day.

In one of the most bizarre no hitters of all time Henderson Alvarez shut down the Tigers. Alvarez no hit the Detroit Tigers, but had to sit in the dugout and watch his teammates try to score a run. The Marlins rewarded him after Luke Putkonen’s wild pitch scored Giancarlo Stanton. This is the 5th no-hitter in Marlins history and first since Anibal Sanchez in 2006. Alvarez joins 282 other pitchers in MLB history to allow no hits in a game. He is the third pitcher to throw a no-hitter in 2013 along with Homer Bailey and Tim Lincecum.

Alvarez was mobbed by his teammates after a wild pitch won it for the Marlins.
